Pink is the universal colour of love and is a favorite at weddings for those who love beauty. Most people see pink as a feminine, delicate colour. Pinks are a fabulous colour to use at weddings as it promotes feelings or care, love, tenderness and acceptance.

Popular pink shades for weddings are the soft baby pink, candy pink, fuschia pink, bright pink, hot pinks and the romantic dusky pinks. Whether your pink as a small ascent colour with silk and satin ribbons and pink flowers or go for the full pink theme pink wedding gown, pink cars and balloons your wedding will be sure to look like a fairytale.

Colours and their True Meanings

Every bride is unique in their own way and most probably already have a colour in mind whether the trend or not. My suggestion is “Go for it!” it’s your personal choice at the end of the day.

2009 wedding invitations will use an array of different colour palettes. The trend I’m noticing is brides are sticking to the colour scheme of their bridesmaids but experimenting and mixing its with an accent colour. At Wedding by Legato our wedding stationary is geared towards their colour scheme .

Colour choices

Vintage prints were all the rage in 2008 with Damask and Baroque patterns being the most popular. To our delight they are carrying on in 2009, with a twist. Bolder colour combinations, added by modern elements and alternative font styles that will bring in a new concept on an old design. Wedding invitations will now see these antique style patterns take on a whole new meaning.

At Weddings by Legato we allow our Brides and Grooms to choose there own colours from our wide range and we apply them to our designs, which gives them a unique and modern invitation!!!

Exciting New Colour Trends for Weddings 2009

Bright colours

With all the exciting new colour trends that we have seen arrive on the scene in 2009, we couldn’t help ourselves but start designing new invitations!

The latest trend we all got very excited about, is the arrival of bright bold colours, almost luminous in nature, and to combine them with neutral greys and creams, to create fresh yet elegant themes for your weddings.

The trick is to use the bright colours in small amounts, in your accessories, bright bouquets, and just below the knee bridesmaids dresses, and to keep the larger areas in the neutral tones. Such as bright yellows, and bright pinks, combined with warm greys and creams.

The Wedding Journal Show

We are happy to announce that Weddings by Legato will be exhibiting again at the Wedding Journal Show in Dublin (16 – 18th Jan 2009) in the Citywest Hotel. This show really is quite eventful with a catwalk and various presentations taking place during the show.

Our team at Weddings by Legato will be exhibiting at our new and bigger stand this year (F26) right beside the Stage. Our designers will be there at all times to talk to you about your wedding stationery and show you samples of our latest designs. Or maybe you want our advice on what colour scheme will be the best for you, or simply to answer any other queries that you might have about the perfect wedding stationery for you.

2008 This seasons colours

Recently we have seen many brides who have chosen deep purples and indigos as the colours for their bridesmaid dresses. The colours we have seen are so beautiful, we had to update our colour chart to reflect the latest trends. Look out for our new colours Moon Violet, Aubergine or Purple Sky! Another strong trend for bridesmaids are beautiful new shades of green, such as Olive, Sage or Lime to name a few, that look truly elegant when combined with the warmer shades of cream. And if you are thinking of matching your flowers to these trends, why not look at hydrangeas, snowdrops or freesias. We have created some lovely new designs in the Secret Garden range, using these new colour combinations. A good thing to remember when using cold colours like purples, greens or blues, is to combine them with warmer colours for combinations that work the best. Don’t forget, most of our wedding invitation designs can be changed in colour. Simply take your pick from our chart, and we can change the colours of your chosen design for free, at no extra cost! The designs that can be changed in colour are marked on our price list. Just email us and we will post our latest colour chart to you!
